This is a tour of Rome where your children’s development is the focus. This means that the Vino Rosso guide is more of a teacher than a guide, interacting with your children in a manner that is intended to stimulate not simply their in-the-moment interest but more importantly their learning skills, through writing, drawing, story-telling, quizzing and of course, laughter. Teaching children well is not only a matter of training and experience. Successful teaching requires good instincts and an innate ability to interact positively with kids. Only a restricted number of our guides are involved in this new program and we are interested in working specifically with the kind of families who share our heartfelt commitment to challenge and enrich a child’s growing intellect. |
The Learning Tour Itinerary of Rome: |
Each young person will receive their own Rome Kit full of learning aids and instruments to be used during your visit. The tour will feature lessons in architecture, history, art and not least of all, a training session in how to fight, and die(!) like a gladiator!
Artists like Raphael and Michelangelo, historical figures such as the Emperor Augustus and Pope Julius II are brought to life through the use of a time-line that we build together throughout the day(s). Best of all your teacher/guide will use, as the greatest of visual aids, this spectacular city that we will be visiting together.
The tour features some of Rome’s most famous monuments: St. Peter’s Basilica, the Pantheon and the Coliseum. Even better, you’ll be discovering some of Rome’s less crowded museums and churches, places of enormous interest and beauty, unknown to the big tour groups.
You will receive one or more days of interaction, activity, drawing, writing and story-telling, all done in the inimitable Vino Rosso style.
